FIRE RETARDANT FABRIC-FR

Fire Retardant Fabric (FR fabric); for use in contract applications, upholstery, curtains, wall fabric, the home & hospitality.

Many of our fabrics either pass the Cigarette & Match Test (domestic), or are Crib 5. The majority of our fabric can be enhanced to CRIB 5 (Contract).

We can arrange enhancement for our non-FR fabrics to meet UK fire regulations Clients may, of course, prefer to arrange FR treatment themselves.

Contract curtains/drapes (BS 5867 part 2 type B Dry Clean Only).
Contract upholstery (BS 5852 1990 part 2 section 4. Crib 5 BS 5651 30 minute soak test. BS EN 1021.1 1021.2 1994 ignition source 0, 1).
Contract bedcovers (BS 7175 1989 Section 3. ignition source 0, 1 & 5 - Dry Clean Only).
Domestic upholstery (BS 5852: 1979 part 1 ignition 0, 1 BS 5651 30 minute soak test. BS EN 1021.1, 1021.2 1994 ignition source 0, 1).

The UK regulations dealing with all internal linings, including panel fabrics and wall covering materials, are more specifically covered by the requirements
of BS 476: Part 7: Class 1 and BS 476: Part 6: Class 0. BS 476: Part 7: 1997 describes the method of test to determine the classification of the surface spread of flame, and BS 476: Part 6: 1989 deals with the method of test for fire propagation, when the material shall have an index of performance (I) not exceeding 12 and a sub-index (i ) not exceeding 6, for Class 0 compliance.

Non UK specifiers please check that our BS standards are acceptable to the designers,  there companies available to you who will treat fabric to pass for example M1 please build the lead time of around 2 weeks and the cost into your budget.
