VELVET FABRIC

Italian velvet available in plain, patterns, textures, chenille and vintaged velvet and can be used for upholstery, curtains, drapery, cushions and accessories.

Velvet was introduced to Baghdad by Kashmiri merchants.  Later Cairo was the world's largest producer of velvet.  Much of it was exported to Venice, Italy from where its popularity spread to most of Europe.
